You can't miss this place when visiting Louisville. I had be best time! Zach was our bartender. We arrived early for our reservation so we decided to sit at the bar. WE NEVER LEFT THE BAR! We were so entertained by Zach and the crew that we stayed for dinner at the bar.
I started with both raw oysters. The one with the roe on it was the better one. They come in orders of one. Then we shared the hot oysters, which is an order of four. It's got some cheese and breadcrumbs on it- so delicious.
For dinner, we shared the risotto with chicken, the duck pancakes special, and the crispy Brussels. Everything was amazing and beautifully plated.
I had three glasses of the Cabernet, which were all generous pours. I normally go with a cocktail but  none of them spoke to me. My date had a spicy jalapeño drink with mezcal instead of tequila. Nice that Zach would make the substitution. It was tasty!
We skipped dessert and enjoyed another round of drinks.
    Bathrooms are clean.
Parking is on the street, I recommend Uber/lyft.
There is indoor and outdoor seating available.
    Ask about the specials!

1st time there, and they decided to try a new minimal menu on Wednesday. Not clear why, but server mentioned for downstaffing reasons. Then several items on that miminal menu were not available as well. Overall prices were very high.

Ordered a dozen west coast oysters for a maximal market price of $48, and it came warm/unchilled with a little fishiness to it. I later found out that their walk in cooler broke that morning. So, this place still sells raw seafood that is potentially turned? Bad move.

The cooked crawfish ceviche and brussel sprouts salad had good flavors. The poke on charcoal tostadas were not on charcoal tostadas, rather some packed and formed forbidden rice.

Flavor - except the oysters, 4 stars
    Ambiance/presentation - 3 stars
    Pricing - 1 star
    Quality - 1 star

To command the highest price for sustainable organic foods, you can't falter on quality and knowingly send a bad product to your diner. Huge fail here. I would not recommend this restaurant at this time due to this inconsistent quality and cost.

    I love this place
like I love smooth jazz/- just at the right time of night, when the sun sets over the patio
crisp sparkling rose in my hand,
West Coast oysters, local lamb sliders
    handsome men and shimmering ladies
dancing two and fro with delicious cocktails
    and plates of artistry
most of me wants to stay table side
while part of me would listen longer to the bathroom philosophy of Alan Watts
    It's clean comfortable and inviting
    like Billie Holidays voice
My choice not hers but she's begging to go back
and I reckon we will soon
finished with a spoon full of tres leches
which was almost as sweet as her mouth on mine
Where we went next I shouldn't explain but we didn't need pants and we listened to funk instead of jazz
    Thank you Ostra
you may be at the bottom of Frankfort ave
but your at the top of my list

I went with a friend last night to Ostra and it was soooooo dope ! For starters he got some oysters and we split ceviche. The seafood  that night in the ceviche was crawfish. It was so light and refreshing. I don't like oysters but i tried both of the sauces that accompanies them and they were pretty great. He got Nashville soft shell crab Sliders. I wasn't expecting it to come with two small sliders but I liked that and it's good for sharing. I got the Brussels sprouts sans the orange zest ( not a fan of it on my Brussels) and they were bomb ! Also I got bang bang cauliflower with risotto. I want to go back and try everything. Please Sit on the patio if it's nice . It's a really cool patio. Server was nice and made suggestions and answered all my questions. This is a good place to get small plates and share or to get an entree to yourself. This is my second time being here and it didn't disappoint. The inside is really dope too but a bit on the smaller side and it does get pretty loud in there. The first time
I went there menu was a bit different and I like when menus switch it up and try new things.

Okay okay... Ostra is my new favorite restaurant in the city. One that when I go, preparing to drop $200 is a safe estimate. The dishes are locally sourced and fanfreakingtastic. Truly, the chef is a innovative with his cricket game and flavor profile. I do not drink often, but when i find a good ole cocktail, mamas happy. Will happily vouch for their cocktail menu and wine selection.

The Cauliflower, Duck Melt, and RISOTTO ARE MY JAM! So, please. Do yourself a favor and get food drunk at Ostra!
